Do Calls and Rooms Lead? Mostly They Just Moved Together

🧭 We dissected more-calls-mean-rise: most of the correlation was co-movement, the purely leading effect small, and distinct-room count mattered more than call count, only within ~30 minutes. The 0.84 was mostly a shadow.

We dissected head-on the very thing that first thrilled us, that more calls mean a rise. We separated whether call count and room count truly lead returns or merely move together with price. The result was cold: most of the flashy correlation was companionship moving in step, and the purely leading effect was small. What little was meaningful came from the number of distinct rooms rather than the call count, and showed only weakly within a short window of about thirty minutes. We faced in data, after a month or so, that the 0.84 of May 27th had been mostly a shadow. Yet it was not a wasted journey, for knowing what is not a signal is also analysis.
