There Must Be One Truth: Sharing the Core to Prevent Drift
🧭 Carved coin-selection logic into one shared module so live and backtest call the same file, with regular checks that both give the same answer. The discipline that later let us trust big findings.
We had decided that live and backtest should use the same brain, but actually keeping it that way was another matter. Fixing only one side eventually creates drift, where the two subtly diverge. So we carved the coin-selection logic out into a single shared module that both sides physically call. We also added a check that regularly compares whether the two paths give the same answer to the same input. This seemingly tedious discipline became the basis on which, when we later made a big discovery like regime, we could trust it was real without doubt.
